The wallet, on your phone

Maat's wallet installs straight from the browser. There is no app store, no download to approve and nothing to update: it is the same wallet, opened from your home screen, full screen, and it still opens when you have no signal.

Open it on a phone

Scan with the phone's camera.

This page was opened on localhost, which a phone cannot reach. Open it at this computer's network address instead, for example http://192.168.1.20:8088, and the code will point there.

Add it to the home screen

Android (Chrome)

1. Open the wallet.
2. Tap the menu (three dots), then Install app or Add to Home screen.

iPhone and iPad (Safari)

1. Open the wallet.
2. Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.

Computer (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open the wallet.
2. Use the install icon at the end of the address bar.

Browsers install an app only from a secure address: HTTPS, or localhost on the computer running Maat. Over plain HTTP on a local network the wallet works in full in the browser, and "Add to Home screen" adds a shortcut to it.
